The finish in here really is perfection. Everywhere you look you can see attention to detail; from original features such as the working 1930s call bell system and pitched pine doors through to the most recent addition of a wonderful oak kitchen which blends seamlessly with the character of the property. It is a 5-bedroom house thanks to a loft conversion some years ago designed to provide a master bedroom with balcony overlooking the garden rooftops as far as the eye can see. The master bedroom has an en-suite like no other with corner bath, shower cubicle and his and hers sinks. A quirky addition is an electric hob and under-counter fridge tucked away just by the en-trance to the master bedroom in case you should fancy a drink or small bite to eat whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity on your balcony. Alternatively it would be a fabulous guest bedroom or space for a teenager to enjoy their in-dependence. Let's talk about the other four bedrooms of which three are doubles and each of these has an en-suite nicely disguised behind wardrobe doors; so all family members will happily enjoy private washing facilities. Downstairs is as special as upstairs. Open this property's wonderful stained glass front door and you're greeted by an original and beautiful tiled floor which is not only hard-wearing but is just wonderful on the eye! The kitchen with its 112 bottle wine rack and many Siemens appliances will also leave you speechless. It was designed by the current owner with everything you could need in mind from the tactile but resilient 'leather effect' granite worktop to the bespoke solid oak units providing oodles of storage along with additional touches such as a dual zone built-in wine cooler and a Franke Omni4 boiling water tap. There are plans in train for an extension across the rear of the property should more living space be needed in future or if perhaps you are thinking about a bed and breakfast venture. What the Owner says:
“We believe this to be only the third time this property has come to the market since being architect-designed and built in 1931. Our family loved the house with its high ceilings, spacious rooms and welcoming hall and landing from the moment we entered it and the wonderful secluded rear garden was the icing on the cake. The house offered us a warm hug. It welcomed us in and we have been both happy and proud to be its custodians for more than 20 years. Over those years we have of course modernised the house but we have always tried to ensure that any work undertaken retained or compli-mented the original features and character of the building. As for location we can confidently say from experience that the short walk to the station is ideal for the London commute and of course a few steps further on take you into the town centre and up to the picturesque pier and seafront. The house has an expansive gravel drive and this large frontage enables the parking of numerous vehicles making a large get-together no issue at times such as Christmas and this property truly is a terrific Christmas house!! Recently we decided to have plans drawn up for a rear family/garden room as we thought it would compliment the new kitchen but, having started the exercise, we then asked ourselves why we would create more space when, since our children left home, we no longer use all the space already available to us."
