Whitstable has much to offer. Home to the annual Oyster Festival, Whitstable has an historic working harbour where you can watch the activities of the commercial port, and a thriving fish market which is open to the public at weekends. The harbour is flanked either side by both sandy and shingle beaches, where you can enjoy swimming and water sports, or go for a pleasant walk.

Although there are a fair number of weekend visitors, both day-trippers and those who have weekend cottages here, Whitstable is anything but a ghost town during the week as plenty of people call Whitstable their home.

1hr 20 minutes by train from London St Pancras, and with easy access to Canterbury and the M2 motorway via the A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable has surprisingly good connections to the rest of Kent and beyond.

Lots of pretty cottages and houses, many already refurbished to a very high standard, and numerous small new developments scattered throughout the town and the immediate surrounding area make Whitstable an enviable (but not cheap) choice of location to set up home.
