Tonbridge Castle is one of the best examples of motte and bailey gatehouses in England, surrounded by a beautiful park, with breathtaking panoramic views of Tonbridge. As this town lies on two channels of the River Medway, the beautiful scenery can be enjoyed from its two bridges, and riverside country walks and canoeing are very popular activities in the area.

Since 1259 Tonbridge has been a busy market town, attracting residents and visitors for its shopping and leisure facilities, its heritage and atmosphere. The town also offers a swimming lido with indoor and outdoor pools, good restaurants, bars and department stores and is known for its very good educational opportunities such as The Tonbridge Public School, the top performing grammar school in South East, and the West Kent College.

The transport links are excellent - Tonbridge has been voted one of the best commuter towns in the country - it only takes 35 minutes to London with direct trains to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo and Charing Cross. Other easy accessible places from Tonbridge via rail are Sevenoaks, Ashford International, Tunbridge Wells and Redhill. The M20 is just 15 minutes away and the A21 links with the M25.

Despite its facilities, Tonbridge is not an expensive town for buying. There are lots of large Victorian properties available, most of them are still semi-detached houses, or terraces while others have been converted into flats. Within walking distance of the station are a number of charming and affordable old cottages whereas the new developments are concentrated in the North of the town. Here is a list of currently available properties in Tonbridge.
